UNITE will be staging another action against 7-Eleven this Friday.

The details are: 5pm – 6pm Friday September 12th outside the 7-Eleven petrol station at 23 Victoria Street East Melbourne. The store is directly across the road from Trades Hall.

This week we have been in contact with 7-Eleven workers who have told us that they are only being paid $8 per hour! Previously the lowest rate reported to us had been $9 per hour. This is a new low for this big business.

We also spoke to one worker who was employed for his first 45 days unpaid. This was allegedly a trial period!

7-Eleven Head Office has still not given UNITE any commitment that they are putting plans in place to fix these problems. Until we receive proper commitments from the company, these actions will continue on a regular basis.
