UNITE set to launch ‘Boost Our Pay’ campaign!

Melbourne’s best hip hop acts supporting fast food and retail workers!

On March 30 UNITE is organising an open air gig and demonstration to launch our new campaign Boost Our Pay. The demo will take place only meters from the doors of some Melbournes busiest fast food outlets on Swanston St in the City! It will feature local hip hop acts Illzilla, SS Pecker and Mata & Must.

Boost Our Pay will campaign around 4 key points

-No to youth wages
-No to wage cutting AWAs
-For a $16 min wage
-For secure hours

The issues of low pay and casualisation, as well as bullying in the workplace are the main issues facing young workers in fast food and retail. UNITE is one of the only organisations actively fighting back.

The details for the demo are: 4-6pm Friday March 30 (last day of school term) outside the fast food strip on Swanston St in the City. Come along and bring your friends!

Stay tuned to the UNITE website for more updates to come.
