But for John Howard these levels of exploitation are not enough. His new industrial relations laws further attack Australia’s lowest paid workers, many of whom are under the age of 25.

New UNITE website launched

Welcome to the new look UNITE website.

The site now has much more content on it and is easier to navigate. It also now has some older achival material that has not been previously available on line. Unite looks forward to continuing the fight against casualisation and low pay in 2006 and is currently planning the  stepping up of this work.

Mass nationwide rally called for June 28

For the past four months workers have been asking ‘what’s the next step in the campaign against Howard’s IR laws?’. After much debate finally the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU) have called another mass nation wide rally on June 28.

Howard government unveils details of anti worker laws

The Federal Government’s new anti worker industrial relations regime will begin next week after Workplace Relations Minister Kevin Andrews unveiled the ‘WorkChoices’ regulations over the weekend.

We need industrial action to defeat the IR laws

As the Howard governments’ Industrial Relations legislation approaches its implementation date, workers have received further confirmation that the union movement was correct when they warned these laws will mean nothing but major cuts to wages, conditions and safety standards in the workplace.
